Antonio Montañés


Antonio Montañés is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Sociology & Social Anthropology at University of St Andrews (UK) and Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), ​​ holding a FPI Scholarship from the Spanish government. His doctoral thesis dealt with the interplay between identity and ethnicity and evangelism among Gitano people. Currently he is member of ISOR research group at UAB and previously held a Research Assistant position at University of Aberdeen (UK) and  National University of Ireland (Maynoth) and was a junior researcher in training at Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC – Programa JAE) and Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS-Programa de formació Postgraduats). Throughout his academic training in the degree of Sociology at Carlos III University he was the recipient of several  honourable mentions for outstanding academic performance from the Autonomous Community of Madrid.
