Wilson Muñoz


Doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Social Anthropology (LAS), Collège de France/ EHESS/CNRS/PSL Research University; Research associate of the Sociology of Religion group (ISOR), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB); Affiliate member of the Mysticism and Contemporary Orthodoxies group (GREMHER), Universitat de Barcelona; Research Associate, Departament of Education, Universidad de Tarapacá – Chile; After his studies in Sociology at the Universidad Católica de Chile, he did a Master in Ethnographic Research, Anthropological Theory and Intercultural Relations at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (Magna cum laude). Currently, he is working on a doctoral thesis on the ritual effectiveness of the Andean festivities in the Chilean north, at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris. His research has focused on the ritual and symbolic dimension of the Christian and Andean celebrations, which are broadly understood as an emergent phenomenon with their own logics. He has participated in several research projects related with these themes. Moreover, he has developed artistic and cultural projects with Andean communities in order to protect their cultural heritage. His research has been recognized, granted and sponsored by several institutions: in Chile by the Universidad Católica, the Ministry of Education, the National Council of Science and Technology (CONICYT), and the National Council of Culture and Arts (CNCA); in France for the Collège de France, the CNRS, the EHESS and the UNESCO; and in Spain by the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.

Teaching

Ha realizado docencia en la Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, la Universidad de Tarapacá, la Universidad Santo Tomás y en la Universidad Tecnológica de Chile. Ha impartido cursos sobre teoría sociológica y antropológica, diseño de investigación, métodos y técnicas de investigación, entre otros.
