
Avi Astor
Profesor Agregado en el Departamento de Sociología de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona y miembro de ISOR. Recibió su doctorado en Sociología de la Universidad de Michigan en 2011. Antes de adjuntarse con ISOR, era un becario post-doctoral con GRITIM-UPF y luego con el Departamento de Sociología y Antropología de la Universidad de Tel Aviv. Ha escrito sobre diversos temas relacionados con la religión, la cultura, la identidad y las relaciones intergrupales. Ha publicado un libro titulado, Rebuilding Islam in Contemporary Spain: The Politics of Mosque Establishment, 1976–2013 (Sussex Academic Press, 2017). Sus investigaciones también han aparecido en varias revistas de prestigio como Theory and Society, The International Migration Review, The Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, The Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Qualitative Sociology y The International Journal for Urban and Regional Research.
