Visitant researcher – Andrea Peña-Vasquez


Andrea is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and a visiting scholar at ISOR. She is a grantee of the J. William Fulbright U.S. Student Program in Spain and a Notre Dame Presidential Fellow. Her research interests include transnational migration from Sub-Saharan Africa to Western Europe and the intersections between immigration status, race/ethnicity, and gender. In her dissertation research, Andrea studies how gendered patterns of interaction with the bureaucratic state affect the political integration of Malian and Equatorial Guinean immigrants in Spain.
